UNIVERSITAS AIRLANGGA (UNAIR)
Established on 10 November 1954, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is home to 15 faculties and 2 schools, with 174 study programs which cover fields ranging from life science, health science, technological science and social science. Its vision is to become an independent, innovative, and leading university, both at national and international level, as well as the pioneer of the development in science, technology, and humanities, based on religious morality. Headquartered in Surabaya, UNAIR has six campuses spread across the East Java region, from Surabaya, Banyuwangi and Lamongan.

PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
- Mobility/ Exchange Program for Lecturer: An international program specifically designed for international academics to incorporate their knowledge to the fields as well as to enrich their academic and research experience with Universitas Airlangga through teaching and research activities. - Academic Lecture: This program invites international academics to deliver an online programs such as guest lectures, or writing clinics in a seminar class in max three credit hours.
- Visiting Fellow: This program invites international academics to conduct in-person programs at Universitas Airlangga for 5-14 days to conduct academic activities such as guest lecture or a writing clinic in a seminar/training/workshop.
- Airlangga Post Doctoral-Fellowship: This program invites international doctorate graduates to conduct research activities with our prominent professors and researchers for three months. This program is available in online or in-person.
- Mobility/ Exchange Program for Students: UNAIR offers mobility/exchange program to international students to take multidisciplinary subject such as in in social and cultural aspects, economics, natural sciences and health/life sciences as well as language immersion program. The programs are available for one up to two semesters and conducted on-site in UNAIR Surabaya Campus.
- AMERTA (Academic Mobility Exchange for Undergraduate and Master at Airlangga) - This program is a credit bearing program for international students who are interested in taking courses that focuses on the current issues in Indonesia through the perspective of natural, health and social sciences. - LINGUA (Learning Indonesian Language at Universitas Airlangga) - This program is a credit bearing program for international students who are interested in learning the Indonesian language and culture and it is available in beginner and intermediate levels. - Online Learning and Tailor Made for Student Mobility Program: UNAIR strives to bring innovative ideas to explore student mobility schemes with partners. Through this program, UNAIR aims to develop programs that meet specialized requirements for unique subjects area and audiences. There are 2 main projects that provide this valuable opportunity, namely Joint Class and Tailor Made Program.
- Joint Class - This program offers opportunities for academics to interact with fellow academics and practitioners, both at home and partner institutions. This concept expects the academics to develop intercultural competencies and digital skills through collaborative learning activities. - Tailor Made Program - This program offers the opportunity to create a study abroad program in Indonesia that fits specific needs and interests. Programs can range in length from one week to one month or more, and take place in UNAIR campus. Program fee is determined by the program design. - International Research Collaboration: Universitas Airlangga provides funding for International Research Collaboration, which focuses on strengthening institutional research activities by partnering with foreign researchers. One of the goals of this collaboration is to improve the quality of the researchers, expand their network and increase the number of publications and citations.
- International Grants (Mobility & Research): Universitas Airlangga is interested in collaborating with universities in the USA and Canada under the framework of these following programs.
- Fulbright Specialist Program - The Fulbright Specialist Program promotes linkages between US scholars and professionals and their counterparts at host institutions outside the US. In Indonesia, the US Fulbright Specialist program awards grants to qualified US faculty members and professionals to engage in short-term collaborative two-to six-week projects at eligible institutions. The faculties recommended for the program at the Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) include the Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Social Sciences and Political Sciences, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Public Health, and Faculty of Humanities.
- English Language Program: Specialist Program - Specialists are top-tier TESOL experts who lead intensive, high-level English language projects, including curriculum development, materials design, and ESP program implementation. Specialist projects vary in length from two weeks to three months, and may be in-country or virtual. The recommended faculties for these programs at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) are the Faculty of Humanities, which offers undergraduate studies in English and master's studies in Linguistics, and the Faculty of Vocational Studies, which offers vocational studies in English.
- English Language Program: Fellow Program - Fellows are experienced and dedicated English language educators with an MA in TESOL or related field. Fellows have 10-month, in-person assignments around the world. Projects include English language teaching, teacher training, and daily opportunities for cultural exchange. The recommended faculties for this program at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) are the Faculty of Humanities, which offers undergraduate studies in English and master's studies in Linguistics, and the Faculty of Vocational Studies, which offers vocational studies in English.
- Increase And Diversify Education Abroad For U.S. Students (IDEAS) - IDEAS Program is designed to expand and diversify American student mobility in support of U.S. foreign policy goals. The program expands the institutional capacity of U.S. higher education institutions (HEIs) to increase and/or diversify U.S. student mobility abroad and achieves this through two main components: a small grants competition awarding up to $35,000 to accredited U.S. HEIs to create, expand, and/or diversify their U.S. study abroad programs and a series of study abroad capacity building activities, both virtual and in-person, to expand capacity in the wider U.S. study abroad community. All faculties at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) are recommended to be considered for partnership in this program.
- Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) - The Government of Canada announced the Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) program to provide opportunities for students from ASEAN member states to conduct short-term study or research in Canadian post-secondary institutions in areas that contribute to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. All faculties at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) are recommended to be considered for partnership in this program.
