Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA)

Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) is a scholarship scheme by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to fund Indonesian students for mobility programs at top universities and reputable industries overseas. This program is managed centrally by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (MoECRT). IISMA covers two paths for both undergraduate and vocational students. With IISMA, they could spend one semester at prominent partner institutions.

IISMA for Vocational Path is for the active Indonesian Diploma 3 and Diploma 4 students (Bachelor of Applied Science) from Vocational Higher Education (VHE) under the Directorate General of Vocational Education. This Program Enable VHE students to enhance their analytical thinking, leadership capabilities, and networking skills, through international education also Provide VHE students with opportunities to learn in collaboration with industry, allowing them to gain work experience and industry/business insights.

For vocational students, this program offers to learn in collaboration with the industry, where they will undertake practical assignments to enhance their skills. During the one semester-long program, the students will have three schemes to choose from, i.e. Scheme A: Full Industrial Experience Program (Full-Time Internship), Scheme B: Combining the Industrial Experience Program (Part-Time Internship) & Class Based Learning, and Scheme C Full Class Based Learning.

IISMA scholarships cover the given cost components to students without the worrying exchange experience, such as Registration & Tuition Fee (at cost), Settlement & Living Allowance (lump sum), Airfare & Visa (at cost), PCR, QUarantine & Health Insurance (at cost), and Emergency Food (at cost).

The student requirement is to be in the 4th semester (for the vocational program) or the 6th semester (for the undergraduate program) at the time of the IISMA program application. The students have the last 20 credits/academic units. 

There are 117 partner universities across the globe. Through IISMA, a total of 3,500+ highly talented students will have had an overseas learning experience by 2022. Overall, IISMA will expose Indonesian students to international academic and cultural diversity.
